  1. COUNCILLOR’S REPORT

Last week’s election results saw Cllr J Armour, Cllr D Kelly and Cllr T MacPherson elected to represent the South Kintyre Ward. Cllr Armour was congratulated on his re- election and it was agreed that a letter of thanks should be sent to Cllr R Colville by CD to thank him for all his support in the past years.

Cllr Armour expressed his dismay at the recent works carried out on Hall St. Various issues were highlighted – sewage coming up outside Taj Mahal restaurant, water lying outside Café Blubell, new surface is too light coloured and coating red sandstone kerbstones of Burnett Building and bin outside cinema wasn’t moved to resurface underneath. He has already contacted Neil McFarlane from Transport Scotland and will update him with list of problems to be rectified.

The collapses of sea walls at the Esplanade, Quarry Green and Low Askomil were also raised. The longer these works are left, the bigger the jobs become. Low Askomil supposed to be repaired in June – CD to send current photo to Cllr Armour.
