MATTERS ARISING
Summer Bedding Plants
These are to be supplied by A&B Council.
Jubilee Afternoon Tea
This will be held on Friday, 3rdJune. JM promised funding £1,000. Individual boxes from Argyll Bakeries cost £4.80 and are substantial. Shopper Aide can distribute to their clients and tickets will be printed by Keeping it Local. 200? Distribution to ticket holders will take place from Town Hall on Friday, 3rdJune from 11am – 1pm.
COUNCILLOR’S REPORT
Little to report due to forthcoming local elections on 5thMay. A&B Council is to receive £1.4 million COVID recovery funding from Scot Gov. Proposals include payments to Citizens Advice, ALI energy, Enterprise business support grants, cards worth £120 to shop local for residents who are eligible for reduced Council Tax.
Cllr Armour attended meeting of CDJFA (football) who are looking at the possibility of building an indoor facility for their 250 members. The Victoria Hall is no longer used for this due to the presence of spin cycles.
Next week Patrick Stewart is to receive the freedom of Argyll and Bute.
TREASURER’S REPORT
£35, 504 in the main account – includes £24,982.92 PlayPark swing money.
£510.00 in Quesada account.
£1008 remaining in the Town Centre Maintenance fund.
Payment was received last week of £74,925 from Scottish Power’s Beinn an Tuirc 3 windfarm and this has been deposited in new bank account – Campbeltown Community Windfarm Fund. It was agreed that the annual payment from SSE for Tangy Windfarm would also be paid into this new account. A meeting has been organised of the trustees to take plans forward to support local organisations.
POLICE SCOTLAND REPORT
This was circulated by email. Still being advised not to attend in person meetings. No evidence of increase in drugs offences. Report from resident on Kilkerran Rd about speeding and VN will pass this on

Tesco Community Grants
Catherine highlighted difficulty in getting grant if A&B Council own land.
Clachaig Glen– proposal for new windfarm and battery storage near Carradale.
High Dalrioch- planning for erection of mast, possible precursor for windfarm?
SSE Community Resilience Grants– received £1500 already from this at start of COVID pandemic. Could it fund Local Emergency Plan? Campbeltown does not have an emergency plan. VN proposed every household be supplied with a leaflet – What to do in an emergency?
ACTION PLAN
A discussion took place re priorities and it was agreed that we need to liaise with SKDT and Inspiralba to take actions forward.
Jubilee Walk- VN and AB to investigate ownership of land between old shipyard and sewage works and get quotes from McFadyen’s and D McLean.
Public Toilets – should we offer to pay for upgrade? Focus on New Quay toilets? CD to raise with Paul Martin, A&B Council. Waste disposal for camper vans also required – Scottish Water to be contacted.

We need more CCC members, elections are in October.
