Minutes:
The minutes of the last committee meeting of 29th January 2024 were found correct and proposed by Catherine Anne and seconded by Valerie.
Treasurer’s Report:
Ann advised that the annual allocation was received from SPR Ltd last week – £85,061.14. The present bank balance held is £139,974.77. The SSE grant of £3,000 approx is to follow.
Valerie mentioned that other Windfarm funds hold aside 10% of their grant for a “rainy day”. It was agreed by all that £10,000 could be set aside in a separate account. Ann has offered to find out what interest rates are available to the Windfarm and the requirements to open a new account.
Distribution of funds
The following applications were discussed and awards made as follows:
- Shopper-Aide Limited £5,000.00
- Kintyre Recycling Ltd £4,000.00
- Kintyre Amenity Trust £1,800.00
- Campbeltown Community Council £1,152.00
- Campbeltown Brass Band £5,000.00
- Argyll Memorial Trust £2,500.00
- Ctown Sea Cadets Unit 480 £2,000.00
- Keeping it local CIC £5,000.00
- Youth Impact £4,200.00
- Kintyre Way £3,000.00
- Kintyre Food Bank £2,500.00
- Kintyre Young Voices £1,000.00
Total £37,152.00
Applications were received from Machrihanish Seabird & Wildlife Observatory and Campbeltown Rugby Club. Anne is to ask for a breakdown of the expenditure and proof of costs and any quotes for work to be completed.
An application was received from Musical Tots Kintyre. This application was declined as it did not meet the requirement of “none of your profits benefit individuals”. Anne to suggest that Business Gateway may be a more appropriate body to contact.
Previous Awards update
Anne had previously circulated the End of Project returns received so far for grants paid out in June 2023. There are outstanding returns and Anne will email the contacts again adding that non receipt of the return will lead to any future application being unlikely to be considered.
AOCB
The post on Facebook to advise of the next distributions should include that applications are encouraged for “the advancement of sustainable energy projects, energy efficiency and improved energy management”.
A future meeting will be arranged when more evidence is received to support the applications from Machrihanish Seabird & wildlife Observatory and Campbeltown Rugby Club.
