Minutes of the last AGM on 13th August 2024 were approved, proposed by seconded by
Convenors Report was discussed – Accepted by All, proposed by Alan Baker seconded by Jim Martin
Treasurers Report was discussed with correction, sheet 2, £10053.42, not £100053.42, Accepted by All, proposed by Alan Baker, Seconded by A Gallacher.

Minutes of Meeting held on Tuesday 13th May 2025
At 7.45pm in Campbeltown Town Hall
Welcome V Nimmo welcomed everyone to the meeting, especially the four prospective members.
Apologies D Allan, J Keane
Minutes circulated – all agreed correct with two amendments.
Annette was missed from the welcome and under item 11, new councillors.
The amount in the windfarm account was missing £24,570.88
Proposed by Gordon Cosgrove, seconded by Alan Baker.
Main Points from Minutes
- Speed warning signs discussed but nothing further on this at the moment – Matthew Shaw said he would chase this.
- Ian Woodcock from Transport Scotland is the contact – proposed 20MPH Limit throughout town with slowing down indicators proposed.
- Donald McKay advised the path maintenance is now complete and looking great.
- Community Justice Service discussed – Sean Brown is the contact and a meeting taking place 14.05.25 to discuss jobs that can be allocated to people instead of prison time.
- E Grabowska mentioned the benches at paddling pool that need some maintenance, replacing them with plastic Benches as discussed C Dobbie to inspect benches then decide course of action – we could apply to windfarm account for funding,
- VE Celebrations discussed, concert was a great success, and Geo Rahman did a fantastic job, boxes supplied by CCC were a huge success.
- No Flags in the street was disappointing
- Town Hall not being involved was also disappointing, letter of disappointment to be sent. Community Hall should be used for all celebrations.
- A Smith to get back to J Martin about flags being put up.
- Parking was addressed but another meeting should be set up for this.
Co-option of new Councillors
It was unanimously agreed to co-opt Corrinna Armour, Gordon Cosgrove, Jason McCallum and Annette Mc Millan to the Community Council, with Corrinna Armour taking on the role of secretary.
Public Questions
Gillian Neall Area Manager for Kintyre Community Social Health care gave an update below
- Managing 6 with beds currently
- No Patients are long term stay
- New Staff Nurse appointed
- A lot of interest in Graduate Nurse Posts – Interest in 9 out of 12 Vacancies
- 2 new recruits in last month
- Hope is to increase beds to 12+2 when fully staffed
- Agency nurses are doing dialysis
- Fire last week caused issues to new Building Work at X Ray Department, but hopeful delays won’t be too bad
- Housing for people coming into area no issues
- Memorial Garden with Cathies Chair discussed – her 3 sons to be invited to opening and for photo opportunity.
Police Report
None received.
Drug use has increased dramatically in Campbeltown and Lochgilphead – A police Youth Education Officer is to be appointed for Campbeltown grammar and Lochgilphead High School. Also noted that drugs are being received through the post.
Councillors Report discussed – See attached
Traffic Scotland / Bear are potentially adding a cycle track along Kinloch Road and Aqualibrium Avenue
It was discussed that a layby at Aqualibrium would be helpful as the road crossing is dangerous.
Sahara Cherry Project discussed with possible areas to plant:-
Burnside Square, Marie Curie Garden, On Hospital Grounds
More feedback needed – date for this November 2026.
Treasurers Report See Attached
2 additional advert costs to come off but closing balance showing £10,078.62
Correspondence
Cnoc Buidhe Consultation discussed – it was agreed everyone should benefit not just selected areas. RWE at Clachaig Glen are considering community shared ownership 49%
Annette McMillan advised Dawson Wam purchased a De Fib for Stewarton Hall and full training to be given.
E Glendinning advised little progress haad been mde on Local Place Plan.
Resilience
J McCallum advised that no further progress at the Community Action Network (CAN). To follow up with SKDT and Inspiralba.
Coastal Change Adaptations Planning discussed
Powerpoint was sent out and Gordon Cosgrove requested a copy.

Playpark Update
Wickstead – End of May for delivery of equipment, work to be done to all parks at same time and timescale for works estimated 7-10 working days.
Parks to receive additional items and repairs where necessary.
E Grabowska asked for Mental Health Wellbeing posted to be shared on FB Page.
Jim Martin advised potential Royal Visit to town – all TBC.
